Chalmer Lake , 82, died at 1:33 PM on Wednesday, May 07, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima.
Chalmer was born on Saturday, November 21, 1931, in Barboursville, Kentucky, to the late Homer Lake and Willie Mae [Penland] Lake.
On June 29, 1957 he married Wanda (Hurst) Lake and she survives.
Chalmer accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on November 3, 2002, and he loved the Lord and his church family at Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. He loved being a part of his children and grandkids lives. He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, and enjoyed mowing, fishing and driving his red truck. He had been employed as a cement mason at Don Kinstle Construction.
He is survived by two sons; Tony (Daleen) Lake of Cridersville, OH, and Scott (Brenda) Lake of Lima and two daughters; Joy (Paul) Warren of Lima and Pat Runkle of Cridersville. Also surviving are six grandchildren - Amanda Jo (Ryan) Butterfield, Christopher (Whitney) Lake, Jacob Warren, Megan(Joe) Brown, Sarah (Jason) Reese, Emily Runkle, four great-grandchildren; Eli & Shanna Butterfield, Austin Curry, Aiden Brown and one expected in July and many nieces & nephews
He was preceded in death by a step- mother Della Lake; three brothers, Buford, Garfield, and Ernest "Bossie" Lake; two sisters, Wathine Stauffer, and Jane Sigmon,
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 09, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 9:00 A.M. Saturday May 10, 2014 at Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church Pastors Truman Partin and Ellis Puckett will officiate.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
