Dorothy Ann Koester

Dorothy Ann Koester,
82, died at 8:45 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born on April 12, 1931, in Kalida, Ohio, to the late Aloysious Gerdeman and Bernadine (Verhoff) Gerdeman.
Dorothy married Virgil Koester on May 31, 1952. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1985. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church; and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia #134. She had worked at the City Loan and The Craft House. She loved baking, cooking, sewing, quilting and gardening. She also loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: three sons Kenneth Koester, of Lima, OH, David (Cynthia) Koester, of Piqua, OH, and Daniel (Pamela) Koester, of Lima, OH; one daughter Kathleen (David) Kuhn, of Lima, OH; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: a step mother Mary Verhoff Gerdeman: a sister Helen Marie Gerdeman; and a brother Charles J. Gerdeman.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. A Parish Wake will follow visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father Stephen Blum officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
