84, passed away at 10:15 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Elmcroft Hospice Center in Elida.
Helen was born on Thursday, September 10, 1931, in Lima, to Harry and Leona (Shiflet) Thomas, who preceded her in death. On Sunday, January 30, 1949, in Lima, she married Jack Delbert Coon, who preceded her in death on December 8, 2011.
Helen retired as a Nurse from Lima Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Spending time with her grandkids was what she loved doing most.
She is survived by: a daughter, Cheryl Coon-Graham of Lima; two sons, Kurt D. (Lori) Coon of Elida and a son, Jack (Deborah) Coon of Cincinnati; thirteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren and a sister, Joyce (Bill) Avery.
She is preceded in death by: brother, James Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 9 AM to 11 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Norman Witthuhn will officiate. Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Shawnee, Ohio.
