James W. Bresler
82, died at 3:45 AM on Tuesday, July 08, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
James was born on December 07, 1931, in Lima to the late Albert Lawrence Bresler and Isla Pearl (Redmon) Bresler. On August 8, 1953 he married H. Lorraine Longmeier. She survives in Lima.
Jim retired after 30 years from the Ford Motor Company, where he worked as a Job Setter, among other positions. He belonged to St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370, the Knights of Columbus #2661, and the United Auto Workers #1219. He enjoyed working in his garage, reading western books, and watching western movies. He could fix anything. He performed in Home and School Floor Shows, was an avid golfer and bowler, played softball, and enjoyed playing Euchre and Dominoes.
He is survived by: three sons, Michael (Patti) Bresler, William (Kim) Bresler, and J. Matthew Bresler: four daughters, Theresa (George) Kearney, Sharon Bresler, Lauren Enda, and Mary Paton; eleven grandchildren, Micaela Bresler, Colin Bresler, Katie (Dan) Brunck, Allison Bresler, Christopher Bresler, Frances (Matt) Meyer, James Eversole, Samatha Enda, Michael Enda, Will Paton and Emma Paton; three great grandchildren, Natalie Meyer, Jackson Meyer and Audrey Brunck . Also surviving is a brother, Glenn (Betty) Bresler, of Spencerville, OH; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Boedicker, and Peggy Lou Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2014 with a Rosary Service to begin at 8:00 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father David M. Ross and Father J. Norbert Howe officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Jim Bresler Scholarship Fund through St. Rose Catholic School, 523 N. West St., Lima, Ohio 45801.
