94 died at 6:02 PM on Friday, October 7, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Josephine was born on August 21, 1922, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Andrew Bonomo and Vita (DiCristina) Bonomo.
Mrs. Neu married Russell Neu on January 16, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1985. He always lovingly referred to her as "Butch" or "Mother". She graduated from St John's Lima, and was a charter member of St Charles Catholic Church. Her hobbies included Italian cooking, crocheting, and her flowers. A decorated heirloom designed by her mother was given to St. John's Catholic Church and is currently used as an altar cloth there.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Neu, of Cridersville, OH and a son, Wayne Neu, of Phoenix, AZ; a grandchild, Alysha Neu, step grandchild, Jonathan Stratton, of Scottsdale, AZ. and a step great grandchild, Dylan Stratton, expected great-grandson, brother-in-law, Dallas Neu, and sisters-in-law, Katie Gerding and Joann Neu.
The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11AM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Rev. Kent Kaufman will officiate.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice or the donor's choice.
