Joy was born on Sunday, August 06, 1950, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Earl Smith and Esther Clodeane [Bradford] Smith. On Saturday, October 15, 1988, in, she married Larry Stager who survives in Elida.
She had worked in the Elida Middle School as a secretary and later at The Anderson's as a clerk. She was a member of the Republican Party.
She is also survived by: her two sons - Jon (Bridgette) Niebel, Lima, OH. and Tim (Brandi) Niebel, Elida, OH, ; a step daughter - Barb (Gary) Sturdivant, Dublin, OH,; three brothers - Charles (Vicki) Smith, Carey, OH, David (Patricia) Smith, Upper Sandusky, OH, Daniel (Ruth) Smith, Upper Sandusky, OH; six sisters - Rosa Thiel, Upper Sandusky, OH, Evelyn (John) Swanberg, WV, Shirley (Carl) Swanburg, FL., Lafern (Michael) Feuerstein , Marion, OH, Lavern (Niranjan) Idgunji, Wilkes-Barre, PA, Laurel (Justin) Wagner, Upper Sandusky, OH. and a sister-in-law - Mary Jo Roeder, Upper Sandusky, OH,
She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren - Gavin and Logan Sturdivant, Luke, Gabe and Lucy Niebel, Lilly, Nick, Mike, and Samantha Niebel, and James Stager, .
She was preceded in death by her sisters - Marylou (James) Gamber, Yvonne Smith, .
and a brother-in-law - Marcus Thiel.
There will be no visitation or funeral services.
