78, went home to be with the Lord at 3:10 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford, Ohio.
Leo E. was born on March 16, 1937, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Irvin Boop and Anna (Salsburey) Boop. On Saturday, June 25, 1960, in Lima, Ohio, he married Kathleen A. Giffin. She survives in Lima.
He served in the United States Army. Leo retired from the Lima Post office in 1992. After retiring, he worked at High Street United Methodist and Westside United Methodist Churches. He also helped at D.W. Office Supplies. Leo was loved by his family and many friends, all of whom will miss him deeply.
He is survived by: a son, Darrin (Julia Moore) Boop, of Galloway, OH, daughter, Ann (Tom) Hermiller, of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Brittany (Cory) Zeigler, Krista Boop, Brandon (Neisha) Hermiller,and Heather Ashby; two great grandchildren, Madilyn Zeigler and Braylin Ashby.
He was preceded in death by: three brothers, Arthur Boop, Donald Boop, and Elwood Boop; two sisters, Elsie Mae VanDyke and Ruth Davis.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, April 01, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 02, 2015 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima, OH. Father David M. Ross will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
