Louise Gross,
86, died at 4:15 AM on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Memorial Mennonite Home in Bluffton, Ohio, surrounded by her family.
Josephine was born on Sunday, July 20, 1930, in Lima, to Pasquale (Bavaro) and Alexandria (Capone) Bowers. On Saturday, July 19, 1947, she married Robert E. Gross Sr. who preceded her in death September 19, 2006.
Louise had worked at Greggs Department Store, Candy Cane Corner and then at Gross & Sons Custom Millwork (founded and operated by her husband). She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies Alter Rosary Society. She was inducted, with her husband, into their Wall of Fame in 2001. She loved meeting and working with people.
She is survived by: sons, Robert E. (Nancy) Gross, Jr., James H. (Debra) Gross, Rick (Kris) Gross, and Dennis L. (Lisa) Gross, all of Lima; daughter, Elizabeth Jane (Joseph, Jr.) Stein, Tiffin; brother, Anthony (Audra) Bowers, Lima; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws, Shirley Wolford, Dorothy Jarvis and Argyle Gross and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by: daughter, Jean Ann Patton; brothers, William, Nicholas, Joseph, and Renold Bowers and sister, Lena Aab.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 PM on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio. Father Jim Szobonya will officiate. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
