Margaret Katherine Burkholder
Passed on to her heavenly home at the age of 94, died at 8:50 PM on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Lima Convalescent Home in Lima, Ohio.
Margaret was born on March 15, 1921, in Pandora, Ohio, to the late Levi Neuenschwander and Katherine (Lehman) Neuenschwander. On Friday, December 15, 1939, she married Harley Burkholder. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1989.
Mrs. Burkholder, prior to her extended illness, was a home maker. She had retired from Triplett Corporation, Bluffton, Ohio and had volunteered at St. Rita's Medical Center and the EtCetera Shop, Bluffton, Ohio; she played in Senior Citizen Band, Bluffton and was a member of the Hammond Organ Club. She loved baking and decorating Wedding Cakes and tending to her flower garden. She was a member of Lima community Nazarene Church where she served faithfully as a greeter helping decorate and arrange flowers at church. She was a choir member and assisted with funeral dinners. She especially loved her children and grand children and looked forward to the times she could be with them.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Melvin) Miller, of Lima, OH; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her son James Lee Burkholder who died in 1989; four brothers, Edwin, Delbert, Wilbur and Vilas Neuenschwander; four sisters, Lenna Kuntz, Minnie Steiner, Wilma Bucher, and Virginia Augsburger.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Pastor Doug Boquist will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora, Ohio at 3:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Community Church of the Nazarene Work and Witness Mission Fund.
