Marilyn Madge Swygart,

84, died at 12:40 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Marilyn was born on Sunday, January 29, 1933, in Lima, to Ray Shinabery Sr. and Ruth (Hartman) Shinabery. On Sunday, June 17, 1951, she married Harold Swygart.

Marilyn was a member of South Side Christian Church. She had worked at The Lima News, WIMA Radio Station and Elderly Nutrition delivering meals to the elderly. Marilyn was formerly a Rainbow Girl and played the clarinet. She dearly loved her family, friends and her pet puppy, Betsie. She loved to paint and listen to music.

She is survived by her children Pamela (Ross) Hollinger, Lima, Lisa (Ron) Weaver, Delphos, Anthony "Tony" (Kim) Swygart, Lima and Joseph (Kris) Swygart, Lima; grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Alan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Devin, Drew, Kari, Kurt and Sam; great-grandchildren, Madison, Tristen, Asher, Cole, Parker, Judah, Lauren, Mariah, Kaiya, Carter and Mason and a brother, Ray (Barbara) Shinabery, Jr., Bluffton.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Melba Rowena Shinabery.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at South Side Christian Church in Lima, Ohio. Rev. Steve Brown and Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
