Marlene A. Shrider,

82, died at 2:05 PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Otterbein Nursing Home in Cridersville, Ohio.

Marlene was born on Sunday, July 21, 1935, in Leipsic, Ohio, the daughter of A. Lester Armentrout and Mildred [Perkins] Armentrout, who preceded her in death.

On Sunday, April 7, 1963, she married Robert L. Shrider, who survives in Lima, Ohio.

Marlene had retired as a Branch Manager at Superior Credit Union where she had worked for 30 years. Previous to that she had worked as an office worker at Ohio Steel. She was a member of Forest Park United Methodist Church, Lima, Ohio.

She is survived by; one son, Dale (Patty) Shrider, of Hilliard, Ohio; one daughter, Laura (Philip) Stirn, of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren, Emily Shrider, Jessica Shrider, David Stirn, Aaron Stirn, and Joel Stirn; one brother, Jim (Anita) Armentrout, of Colorado; and two sisters, Dorothy Thompson, of Wapakoneta, Ohio and Carol (Lonnie) Berkebile, of Johns Island, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Armentrout and his wife, Jo Armentrout; and a brother-in-law, Bill Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima, Ohio. Pastors Tim Benjamin and Lynn Huffman will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest Park United Methodist Church Building Fund, or the Alzheimer's Association (Northwest Ohio Chapter).
