Raymond Clement Musto, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home in Lima, Ohio.
Ray was born on August 11, 1932 in Oliver, WI, the son of Raymond and Clementine (Daley) Musto, who preceded him in death. On September 8, 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara (Falk), who passed away in 2013. She was the love and light of his life.
Ray was a member of the United States Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. He was an airplane mechanic and navigator on bomber planes in the war and had a life-long passion for aircrafts. He was proud of his service to our country and all of his fellow veterans, and provided generous support to the Allen County Veterans Food Pantry and other local organizations. After the war, he was employed by Ford Motor's Lima Engine Plant and later, Davidson Enamel. His career was cut short by a disabling back injury. He was an unstoppable man who never let his physical limitations take away his joy in life. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and led a life firmly rooted in his faith and religious beliefs.
He was an avid sports fan and instilled his love of athletics, competition and hard work in his children. Many hours were spent through the years cheering on the Reds, the Bengals, and his much loved Ohio State Buckeyes. His whole world was the wonderful family he and Barb created, and he was so proud of each of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an amazing man who radiated love and strength and he will be forever missed by so many.
He is survived by his loving family members who include: his children, Linda (David) Berger, of Lima, Ohio, Thomas Musto, of Toledo, Ohio, Debra (Donald) Diebert, of Port Clinton, Ohio, Sheila (Max) Kern, of Delaware, Ohio and Lisa (Tony) Bonofiglio, of Delaware, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Musto, of Powell, Ohio; and his sister Mary Ciminillo, of Lima, Ohio. He was Papa to 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom he passionately loved. He was cherished by an enormous family and circle of friends.
Ray was preceded in death by his son, Robert Musto, his granddaughter, Monica Berger and his sister, Rose Janet Biederman.
