Richard L. Lhamon,

80, passed away at 8:32 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima.

Richard was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1935, in Lima, to the late Lyle and Margaret (Stocker) Lhamon. On Sunday, June 3, 1956, he married Beverly (Shook) Lhamon.

Richard was a graduate of Waynesfield High School class of 1953. After High School he attended Ohio Northern University where he received his Bachelors Degree. He went onto get his Masters and Specialist from Bowling Green University. Richard retired from Bath Local Schools after 42 years. He started at Cairo Schools as a teacher then became their principal and later became the assistant superintendant at Bath Schools. He was a member of Cairo United Methodist Church. Richard was an avid fan and supporter of the Bath Wildcat / Wildkitten Athletic Programs.

He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Mike) Nichols and his son, Todd Lhamon; six grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Nichols, Andrea (Mark) Suter, Alexa Nichols, KaLynn Lhamon, Mitch Lhamon and Kyle Lhamon; three great grandchildren, Charles, Madilyn and Lincoln; two sisters, Bernice Burden and Sue (John) Bowers.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Curt Lhamon.

The family would like to extend a big thank you to his nursing and medical staff at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and from 6 to 8PM on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby and Rev. John Bowers will officiate. Interment will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Waynesfield, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cairo Library, Cairo Volunteer Fire Department or Cairo United Methodist Church.
