Richard R. Roop ,
76, died at 12:50 AM on Sunday, April 05, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio, surrounded by his family.

Richard was born on Saturday, July 09, 1938, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Forest Roop and Margaret (Leach) Roop. On Sunday, May 03, 1959, in Elida, Ohio, he married Joyce Preuss. She survives in Elida.

He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida. He was a member of Lima Eagles Aerie #370. He retired from the Lima Ford Engine Plant. Working on old cars and computers was his passion.

He is survived by: a daughter Debbie Roop, of Elida, OH; two grandchildren, Logan Roop and Ron Lloyd; two brothers, Tod (Sharon) Roop, of FL and Don (Carol) Roop, of Findlay, OH; several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Barb Roop and a sister, Peggy Bowsher.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A Funeral Service will begin at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Rev. Bruce Tumbling will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made can be made to Community Health Partners or Immanuel United Methodist Church in Elida.
