Sandy E. Thurmond,

50, died at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 08, 2017, at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus.

Sandy was born on Thursday, March 31, 1966, in Lima, to the late John Henry Thurmond and Bernice (Bradley) Smith.

Sandy had served in the US Army and worked as a registered nurse, licensed contractor, a longtime employee of The Pizza Station and was the owner/ operator of T-Mond Rentals. He had also coached Midget League Football.

He is survived by his fiancé - Kamy Hinkle; Michael, Nathan and Makasia Thurmond (Tammy Golden); Alex and Gary Madison, daughters, Aaliyah Thurmond (Trashina Deagle), Ceandra and Kaitlin Thurmond (Ginger Gossard), Chandra and Sandy Lynn Thurmond (Glenna Elkhart); step-children, Teva, Alex, Jessica and Gary Madison (Kamy Hinkle); brothers, Vernon Bradley, John and Michael Thurmond; sisters, Patricia (William) Thurmond-Barber, Seallena (Carl) Thurmond, Gwendolyn Smith and Sheala Thurmond.
Sandy will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio. Pastor Paul Johnson will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
