W. Eileen Sanford

W. Eileen Sanford, 86, died on November 15, 2014 at her daughter's home in Dublin, Ohio.
She was born August 6, 1928, in Lima to Harry E. and Catherine M. Craft Weidel Sr. On September 3, 1948 she married her beloved Roger B. Sanford who preceded her in death.
Eileen was a graduate of South High, and she and her husband would continue to meet weekly with their high school friends for the following 60 years in what became known as the "Pinochle Club". She was an active member of Central Christian Church (DOC). She had been a member of Lost Creek CCL. She volunteered at Bath Local Schools, at her church and at Churches United Pantry C.U.P and Meals on Wheels. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. Friends and family relied on her for her tailoring skills.
Survivors include children Cheryl (John) Banner of Dublin, Rod (Jan) Sanford of Lima, Beth (J.R.) Galvin of Lewis Center and grandchildren Laura (Mike) Vorwerk of Napoleon, Blaine Sanford of Lima, Scott Banner of Columbus and Jack Galvin of Lewis Center and honorary daughter Missy (Tim) Howard of Lima.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Waneta Evans, Lucille Ramer, and her brother Harry Weidel.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
There will be a Memorial service Thursday, November 20, 2014 starting at 11:00 AM at Central Christian Church (DOC) in Lima, Ohio. The Rev. Dr. Thomas R. Jewell will be officiating.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, OhioHealth Hospice or Central Christian Church (DOC)
