Harold A.   Swygart

 

86, passed away at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.

 

Harold was born on October 31, 1931, in Dewey, OK. to George S. &  Carrie (Potter) Swygart.

 

On Sunday, June 17, 1951, he married Marilyn M. (Shinabery) Swygart, she preceded him in death on March 4, 2017.

 

He was a 1949 graduate of Lima South High School. He worked at Food Line Market and later as a branch Manager at Nickles Bakery for 45 years.  He enjoyed old cars, traveling, camping and Betsie (his best little pup). Harold was a member of the South Side Christian Church where he served as Elder Emeritus. He was a 50 years member of Ft. Amanda Lodge #706 F&AM which merged with Lima Lodge #205 F&AM,  Antioch Shrine and the Lima Shrine Club, a member of Lima Chapter #49 R.A.M., Lima Council #20 R.S.M., Shawnee Commandry #14, a 32 degree Mason of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Dayton.

 

He is survived by two sons, Joseph (Kris) Swygart and Anthony "Tony" (Kim) Swygart, two daughters, Pamela (Ross) Hollinger and Lisa (Ron) Weaver all of Lima; eleven grandchildren, Laura, Matthew, Alan, Jennifer, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Devin, Drew, Kari, Kurt, Sam; thirteen great-grandchildren, Madison, Tristen, Asher, Cole, Parker, Judah, Kimber, Mason, Liam, Lauren, Mariah, Kaiya and Carter. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Rope, of Lima.

 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Swygart and George Swygart Jr. and a sister Josephine Hines.

 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio, with a Masonic Service at 8:00 P.M. followed by a Scottish Rite Ring Service.

 

Friends may also call on Friday June 1, 2018, from 10:00 till the time of service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at South Side Christian Church. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. 

 

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to South Side Christian Church or Shriner Children’s Hospitals.
