Madge Marie Stubbs

Madge Stubbs, 87, of Lima, passed away at Ross Heart Hospital Ohio State University on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:15 A.M. She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on January 4, 1930 to the late Lloyd and Bessie Warmbrod.
Madge graduated from Dola High School in 1947 and then graduated from Lima Memorial School of Nursing in 1950. She married Robert Stubbs on November 9, 1950 and he survives in Lima. Madge worked as a critical care RN at Lima Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph, Bloomington, IL, and Kettering, as well as some private duty nursing. Some of her patients were the mother of McLean Stevenson of TV show M.A.S.H., Neil Armstrong's mother, and the wife of Adlai Rust, founder of State Farm Insurance. In 1985 she was chosen as 1 of 18 to attend a 6 month government sponsored program at Stanford University to upgrade and standardize coronary care nursing for the United States. She was an avid swimmer, bicyclist, runner, and water and snow skier. Madge was a former Deacon at Market Street Presbyterian Church and later at Shawnee Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Tony (Nancy) Stubbs of Lima and Mark Stubbs (Betty) of Sidney, OH, 3 grandchildren Sean (Jennifer) Stubbs of Westerville, OH, Ryan Stubbs of Lima, and Lauren (Ryan) Springer of Gallatin, TN, and 4 great-grandchildren Jack and Resse Stubbs and Ethan and Henry Springer.
She was preceded in death by a sister Doris Free, and 3 brothers Dale, Donald, and Russell Warmbrod.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15 from 2-5PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio with a memorial service following at 5PM.
