Serida Kay Cooper, 62, of Lima, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
She was born on December 20, 1960 in Delaware, Ohio to the late Jesse J. Cooper and Sheila (Rev. Ferman) Hall.
Kay was a graduate of Marimor Industries and enjoyed her time working at the Workshop. She was a dedicated Christian, saved by grace, and was looking forward to going home to be with the Lord. She was a member of Full Gospel Temple of Love and their Sunday School. Kay was very involved with Special Olympics and was loved by everyone that knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Faye) Cooper; sisters, Sondra (Allen) Huff and Wendy (John) Brewster; sister-in-law, Sue Cooper; uncle, Ken (Brenda) Hall; aunt, Sally Walker; 15 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and nephews; and 4 great-great-nieces and nephews; as well as numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Tom Cooper, Michael Hall, and Daryl Hall; nephew, Maverick Brewster; niece, Allie Kay Cooper; and several aunts and uncles.
Her family will receive friends on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the funeral home. Rev. Terry Brock will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Kay’s favorite color was blue, so the family asks that all wear blue per the request of Kay. Pallbearers will be: Travis Drury, Michael Cooper, Ricky Cooper, Brittany Ferris, Lloyd “Bubba” Horton, and Bryan Ferris.
