ADAM VERL KAYLOR, 79, died at 2:24 a.m. September 16, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1925, in Rockford, Ohio to Adam and Bertha Brush Kaylor, who preceded him in death. On April 8, 1972, in Ohio, he married Thoris Townsend, who died May 15, 1997. Mr. Kaylor had been a pipe fitter for Standard Oil. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 370, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving from Nov. 22, 1943, to May 12, 1946. He was an avid pool player and was a member of several pool leagues. He loved nature and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include a son, Jeffry (Nora) Kaylor of Lake Jackson, Texas; a daughter, Sharon Hirschfeld of Ada, Ohio; two brothers, LeRoy Kaylor of Three Rivers, Michigan, and Lloyd Kaylor of Van Wert, Ohio; a sister, Clara Bell Robinson of Kokomo, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brent (Nicole Teeters) Hirschfeld of Lima, Ohio, Charity (Jeremi) Brayton, Kimberly (Jeff) O'Black, Michelle (Bill Graham) Hirschfeld, Ernest (Wendy Wienken) Kaylor and Jessica (Mike) Moore; eight great-grandchildren, Braden Hirschfeld, Alexandrea Brayton, Jacob Brayton, Joseph O'Black, Ashley Hirschfeld, Nicholas Graham, Cole Graham and Jarron Kaylor; and his special friend, Connie Ritter of Elida, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Kaylor; and two sisters, Ethel Myers and Leora Boley. Services will begin at 11 a.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Wanda Werking will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
