ALICE A. LANDAU, 83, died at 4:25 p.m. August 29, 2004, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born August 24, 1921, in Lima, Ohio to Frank Reier and Helen Bresler Reier-Morton, who preceded her in death. She married Howard Landau, who died November 7, 1991. Mrs. Landau was owner and operator of Alice's Coffee Cup for several years. She also had been a caregiver for several elderly people over the years. She had a book of poems published called "My Thoughts in Verse." Survivors include a son, Rick (Sue) Mawhorr of Delphos, Ohio; three daughters, Carol (Ty) Shaner of Celina, Ohio, Susan Abraham of North Miami, Florida, and Bev Duff of Lima, Ohio; and 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Arthur and Ronald L. Courtney; a half brother, Robert Morton; a half sister, Carol Robinson; and a stepbrother, Robert Black. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Martin Moyer will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
