Alona "Sherry" Helfrick

Alona “Sherry” C. Helfrick, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Alona was born on May 19, 1946, in Lima, Ohio to Russell and Emma (Stemen) Sholler. In 1975 she married Carl Helfrick, who preceded her in death.

Alona enjoyed puzzle books and word finds. She read her Bible daily and did devotionals. Alona also loved to sit on the porch with family.

She is survived by her children, Richard Davis, Michelle (Dennis) Dunbar and Karen (Owen) Garland; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Compton; siblings, Leroy Sholler, Susan Hoover, and Dean Sholler.

There will be no services at this time.
