Amy Dean Herald

Amy Dean Herald, 84, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center. Amy was born on October 5, 1941, in Hazard, KY, to John and Verna (Gayheart) Engle.

Amy loved to make blankets, quilts, and dollies. She also enjoyed cooking for the family. She had worked many positions over the years.

She is survived by her children: Jamy Dean Nusbaum, Ronny Howard, Deborah Howard and Linda Dotson; ten grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest son, Curtis Howard.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Lay-Servant Dave Belton will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family towards funeral expenses.
