Amy Sockrider

Amy Sockrider, 57, passed away at 11:07p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

Amy was born on June 6, 1968, in Lima, Ohio, to Thomas Allen and Lynda Kay (Hunt) McCoy. She married Jack Sockrider, who preceded her in death.

Amy loved the ocean, coloring, playing cards and shopping. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Emily (Zachary Linn) Sockrider and Thomas “Tommy” Sockrider; a granddaughter, Sarah Stonehill; sister, Teresa Davis; and a brother, Denny Bowers.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; and a nephew, Terry Dotson.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Lay Minister David Belton will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses or Donor’s Choice.
