Barbara Ann Keller

Barbara Ann (Geer) Ditto-Keller, 87, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by her family at Mercy Health St. Rita’s.

Barbara was born on November 19, 1934 in Durango, Colorado to the late Emma (Cutler) Chappell and Chester Geer.  She married Donald E. Ditto on July 2, 1955.  She then married John R. Keller on July 2, 1983.

Barbara was a 1952 graduate of Howland High School in Howland, Ohio.  She graduated from the Western Union School of Illinois and from The Ohio State Beauty School in Lima.  She was a beautician in her own salon, Ditto’s Beauty & Wigs Salon, for over 21 years.  She was the manager of the Lima Towers and retired from Metropolitan Housing.  Barbara made costumes and did hair and make-up at the Encore Theater and the Civic Center.  She was a longtime member of Westside United Methodist Church. For years she was a volunteer at CUP.  She was also an Eastern Star.  She loved camping, traveling, sewing, making candy, and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her son, Zane Ditto of Columbus Grove; daughter, Robin (Jeff) McElroy of Lima; stepsons, Jim (George Byrd) Keller of Columbus and John (Val) Keller of Lima; stepdaughter, Missy (Jodi Brincefield) Keller of Lima; grandchildren: Tristan McElroy, Amber McElroy (Chad) Jamison, Candice Ditto, Sean (Sarah) Ditto, Megan Ditto (Christopher) Collier, Alix Ditto (Tyler) Neal, Madisyn Ditto, Christina George (Bryan) Martin, Monique George, Alicia George, C.J. (Helen) Brincefield and Nicholas Keller; great-grandchildren: Hailey McElroy, Karmin Hawkins, Eli Jamison, Samantha Jamison, Makalya Slough, Karlie Romaker, Mya Grieshop, Alex Watkins, Mateo Miller, Levi Neal, Kynslee Neal, Dewayne Collier, Kyrin Collier, Caralee Ditto, Jayelle Ditto, Zackary Martin and Julia Martin; sisters, Nelma Chappell (Mike) Jones of Warren, Ohio and JoAnn Chappell (Bill) Kempher of Dover, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. Keller; brother, Sonny (Janet) Geer; sister, Eleanor (Joe) Redmond; and stepdaughter, Cindy George.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3 p.m.. Pastor Dan Lee will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
