Barbara Thomas

BARBARA E. THOMAS, 84, died at 5:30 p.m. December 6, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born August 3, 1920, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank and Almeda Haley Bendure, who preceded her in death. On August 26, 1940, she married Robert Thomas, who died February 5, 1984. Mrs. Thomas retired as a Realtor having worked for Cable Real Estate and Yocum Realty. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a member of Trinity Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 Auxiliary. She had been a member of the Ohio Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Lima Board of Realtors. She was a 1938 graduate of Leipsic High School. Survivors include three children, Jan C. (Kim) Thomas and Darlene (Ralph) Goetz, both of Lima, Ohio, and Kim (Debi) Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepson, Robert A. (Terry) Thomas of Manning, S.C.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her companion, Lou Ann Pugh; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Curtis will officiate. A private family burial will be held Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
