Betty Billingsley

Betty Billingsley departed from this earth on November 28, 2015 to be reunited with the love of her life, hubby Dick, who passed away on April 11, 2013.
Betty was born on February 21, 1929 to Paul and Gertrude (Smith) Thomas at her Grandparent's home in Cairo. She lived with her grandparents until she married Richard B. Billingsley on June 27, 1949. They were married 64 great years.
Betty graduated from Columbus Grove High School in 1947. She was employed at City Loan, Sears Catalog, and retired from Osterman Jewelers.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Pam (Steve) Gilliland of Land O'Lakes, Florida and her son, Mark (Linda) Billingsley of Lima, Ohio. Betty had five grandchildren: Lisa Brown (GA), Amy (Jonathan) McSherry (FL), Betsy Billingsley (OH), Scott Billingsley (TX), and Tim (Heather) Billingsley (FL) plus four great-grandchildren: Steven, Brianna, Zachary and Joseph. Siblings include: Avyce White of Lima, Larry (Nancy) Alger of Lima, Dennis (Mary) Alger of Sandy, Oregon, and Robert (Sue) Alger, of Dunkirk, Ohio.
Betty was a member of Westside United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 96, Lima.
Betty loved playing cards nightly with the Primrose gals, dancing, crocheting and her soap operas, and especially her best friend, Hans (her Doxie).
The family wants to thank all of the very special caregivers who attended and loved Betty during her illness.

Visitation will be held at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 4 to 8 P.M.
A private service will follow at a later date with her immediate family.
