Betty Jean Rager

Betty Jean Rager, 96, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Lima Convalescent Home. She was born on September 25, 1929 in Vaughnsville, Ohio to the late Homer and Geneva {Blymeyer} Williams.

She married Willard Rager, who preceded her in death in 2002. She graduated from Gomer High School in 1946. She worked at Elida Road Hardware and volunteered at The Cancer Center for many years. She was a member of Gomer Congregational Church and loved her church family.

She is survived by her children: Bruce (Sharon) Rager and Barbara Wiech, grandchildren: Scott (Shannon), Ryan (Kim), Traci (Bruce), Jason (Kim), Brian (Maggie), Michelle, and Michael (Amber), great-grandchildren: Alanna (Joe), Taylor (Brodie), Jordan, Riley, Toree, Addy, Morgan, Max, Eli, Jovie, Tate, Luke, Lydia, Kaylin, and Kaysie; step-great-grandchildren, Riley and Aidan; 9 great-great-grandchildren, and sister-in-laws: Mary Williams and Stephanie Williams.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Benjamin Rager, siblings: Gary Williams, Tom Williams, and Ruth (Ray) Branson, and son-in-law: Larry Wiech.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:30 A.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Gomer Congregational Church.
