Carl Mel Kohrn

Carl Mel Kohrn, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on May 6, 1944 in Lima to the late Carl Anton and Wanda May {Springer} Kohrn.

On July 11, 1964, he married Karen {Ludwig} who preceded him in death June 10, 2026. Mel was a member of South Side Christian Church and Lima Eagles Aerie #370. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, bowling, and golfing.

Mel is survived by his sons, Bryan (Susan) Kohrn and Eric Kohrn; grandchildren, Nick (Lauren) Kohrn, Kelly (Tom) Stevens, and Tiffany Cooper; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Mike (Pat) Kohrn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Karen, and in-laws, Elaine Morway, Junelle (Gerry) Picker, Arnold (Sandra) Ludwig, Jerry (Sylvia) Ludwig, Kathleen (Jack) Armstrong, Kenneth (Gerri) Ludwig, Frank (Betty) Ludwig, and Larry (Sue) Ludwig.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate.
