Carol Bowers

Carol Bowers , 91, passed away at 5:36 p.m. on February 18, 2022, at her residence.

Carol was born on August 29, 1930 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Harold G. “Bus” and Martha Mary McMichael. On June 5, 1949 she married Robert E. Bowers, who preceded her in death on July 26, 2005.

Carol spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked alongside her husband farming for decades. She was an active member of High Street and Westside United Methodist churches, volunteering throughout the years in many capacities, including as a Sunday School teacher, and on the preschool and funeral dinner committees. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Trinity Chapter #16 and volunteer for the Rainbow Girls organization. She loved crocheting blankets and other one-of-a-kind gifts for others. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at her family cottage in Marblehead.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Graham, and Nancy (Brad) Sherrick; a daughter-in-law Susan Jenkins; grandchildren Heather (Kyle) Pitzer and Heath Sherrick; great-grandchildren Ella and Anna Pitzer; siblings, John (Joan) McMichael, Marilyn Fried, and Barb (Bill) Rinehart; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Brenda K. Bowers; a son-in-law Ron Graham, and nine siblings.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Dan Lee will officiate. Burial will be at Allentown Cemetery, Lima at a later date.
