Charles W. Wakefield

Charles W. Wakefield, 74, passed away on October 13, 2025, at Mercy Health St. Ritas.

Charles was born on April 12, 1951, in North Conway, New Hampshire, the third child of Norman G. Wakefield and Emma (Van den Houte) Wakefield, who have preceded him in death. On June 3, 1972, he married Joeyann Ciminillo, who survives in Lima, Ohio.

Charles was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #691 Wapakoneta, Ohio. He retired from BP Chemicals in 2007 after 38 years of dedication. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Charles loved spending time with his family and friends, and he will remain forever in our hearts.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Jason (Cora) Wakefield, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Benjamin (Kelly) Wakefield of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Marjorie Henry of Florence, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Nancy Wakefield of Punta Gorda, Florida and Vickie (Rick) Gallegos; brothers-in-law: Tony (Jenny) Ciminillo, Nick Ciminillo, Mike Ciminillo and Bill Ciminillo; a dear cousin, Patricia Hesslein of Brownfield, Maine; and grandchildren, Barrett, Bexley, LilliAnn, Lucas, and Thorvald; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred G. Wakefield; brothers-in-law, Daniel Henry and Steve Ciminillo

The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Lori Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.O.S Project or Shawnee Select Soccer Club.
