Clinton Wireman, 80, of Lima, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 7:35 a.m. peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born March 3, 1945 to Jesse and Cora {Handshoe} Wireman, who preceded him in death.
On March 28, 1964, he married the love of his life, Ida Davis, who survives. Clinton was initiated as a member of Laborers Local 329 on April 24, 1969 and was a member for 56 years. He was elected in the late 1970s as a Business Manager and was nominated as a Delegate to the Laborers District Council of Ohio where he served until he retired in 2001.
Clinton loved going to church. He was a member of Lima Freewill Baptist Church for more than 50 years where he served as a deacon. No matter where he was, he loved singing and playing his guitar. Clinton was a people person who never met a stranger and was always there for his family and friends. He liked to stay busy and was a jack of all trades. His pride and joy were his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dog Smokey.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children: Carol (Timothy) Smith, Lisa (Brian Holliday) Wireman, Gregory (Jennifer) Wireman, and Courtney (Dave Osbon) Wireman. He is a grandpa and papaw to Kori Wireman, Tyler (Brittany) Wireman, Kali (Korey) Lane, Kora (Branden) Wireman, CholeJace Wireman, Korbin Wireman, Bayne (Haley) Wireman, Kaleb (Nae) Wireman, and Decker Osbon. He is a great-grandpa to Hayden, Kaedyn, Carly, Faylynn, Braelynn, Khari, Khopelynn, Khenora, Kinsley, Judah, Wyllow, Ayla, and baby Wireman due March 2026. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Wireman, brother-in-law Lee Coburn, sister-in-law Marie Wireman, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronald and Julie McDonald, and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons: James Wireman and Scott Wireman, brothers and sisters: Audrey Coburn, Leslie Wireman, Anas (Earl) Grigsby, Lester (Doris) Wireman, Clayton (Bonnie) Wireman, Chester Wireman, Harold Wireman, and Inis Wireman, sister-in-law Linda Wireman, father-in-law and mother-in-law Willie and Edna Watkins, father-in-law Ova Cole and brother-in-law O’Field Watkins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.
Funeral services will begin at noon on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bluelick Cemetery in Lima, where he will be laid to rest. Friends may visit one hour prior to services from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
