Darrell Woods

DARRELL M. WOODS, 81, died at 12:46 a.m. November 30, 2004, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1923, in Lewistown, Ohio to Roy and Annabelle Canfield Woods, who preceded in him death. On October 14, 1950, he married Helen Burroughs, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Woods retired from Associated Truck Lines, and along with his wife, owned Woods Janitorial Service. He was a 1943, graduate of Lakeview High School. He was an Army Air Forces veteran serving with the military police from January 1943 to February 1946. Survivors also include two sons, Rick (Kathy) Woods of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Randy Woods of Lima, Ohio; a sister, Charlotte Clary of Bellefontaine, Ohio; a brother, Donald (Clare) Woods of Avon, Ohio; and a grandchild, Ashley Woods of West Palm Beach, Florida. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles Woods, Fred Woods, Elwood Woods, Tom Woods, Harold Woods and Joe Woods. Services will begin at 7 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Chaplain Richard Coon will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Plum Cemetery, Washington Township. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of services today at the funeral home.
