Dean Allen Dunlap

Dean Allen Dunlap, 61, of Lima, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born on February 21, 1963, in Lima to the late Don and Elizabeth {Miller} Dunlap.

Dean graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1981. He worked at Proctor and Gamble as a contractor for 20 years and recently switched to AIP. Dean and his wife Betty, flew to Las Vegas to get married on September 12, 2007. He was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball with his dear friends: Dick Fisher, Scott Bayliff, Steve Parent, Mike Evans, Anthony Newsome, and Randy Lutterbine. He enjoyed mowing and was the definition of a family man, after he received the biggest blessing in his life, the birth of his twins, Elizabeth Marie Dunlap and Dean Allen Dunlap Jr.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his stepchildren: Shannon R. Storer, Shon P. Slayton, and Ethan Downing; grandchildren: Noah Storer, Katie Storer, Mya Storer, and Colton Downing; siblings: Don (Chris) Dunlap, John (Theresa) Dunlap, Eileen (Tom) Zwiebel, and Lisa Howe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Joktan Downing.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 12 - 7 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, where a funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.  Eli Yoder will officiate.
