Diane Lynn Dienstberger (Fromm), age 66, of Lima, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Diane was born on August (7) 8, 1959, in Lima, Ohio, to William Lee and Ruth Mae (Boerger) Fromm.
On May 8, 1993, Diane married the love of her life, Daniel Roy Dienstberger. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, friendship, and unwavering love. Diane dedicated herself to raising her children and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, support, and treasured traditions.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Roy Dienstberger of Lima, Ohio; her son, Christopher Paul (Laura N. Burden) Dienstberger; her daughter, Kara Marie (Jesse D. Snyder) Dienstberger of Mooresville, North Carolina; her three beloved grandchildren: Gracelyn Sue, Theo Nicholas and Avery Marie of Lima, Ohio; her siblings: Gregory (Vivian) Fromm of Lima, Ohio, David (Shirley) Fromm of Huntsville, Ohio, Ann (Andrew) Caprella of Harrod, Ohio, Cindy Staup of Lima, Ohio, William (Dawn) Fromm of Belle Center, Ohio, and Lori (Timothy) Casey of Lima, Ohio; along with 18 nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as “Aunt DD.”
Diane devoted twelve years to raising her children while also helping operate the family business alongside her husband. Throughout her life, she worked at McDonald’s, Lima Group Family Physicians where she enjoyed her girls of the “Lima Group Family Physicians-The Old Ladies Group” Hope Cancer Center, and Otterbein Cridersville Medical Records. She later retired from Guckenheimer Food Service at Grob Systems in Bluffton, Ohio.
Family was the center of Diane’s world. She rarely missed a football game, wrestling match, softball game, bowling event, or any activity involving her children. As a grandmother, she found even greater joy in attending her grandchildren’s activities, picking them up from school, spending time together at Lake Cody, and creating lasting memories during holidays and family gatherings.
Diane was a passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and proudly cheered for the Buckeyes every chance she had. Some of her favorite memories were made tailgating in Columbus at Hiney Gate, watching the Danger Brothers perform, and spending Saturdays surrounded by family, friends, and Buckeye spirit.
She loved camping, decorating for the holidays, and preparing the delicious Christmas treats that family and friends eagerly anticipated each year. Diane had a special gift for making holidays magical and ensuring everyone around her felt welcomed, loved, and included.
Known for her compassionate heart, Diane was an exceptional listener who always seemed to know exactly what someone needed to hear. She faithfully listened to Joyce Meyer’s daily messages and often shared encouraging words and positive affirmations with anyone facing a difficult day. Her warm hugs brought comfort, and her radiant smile had a way of lighting up a room and brightening the hearts of those around her.
Whether gathered at Lake Cody with family and friends, enjoying a Buckeye tailgate, or celebrating around the holiday table, Diane’s greatest happiness came from bringing people together. Friends and family alike knew they could count on “Aunt DD” to make them feel at home, share a laugh, lend a listening ear, and make sure everyone had a drink or two in their hand.
Diane will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering devotion to her family, and the countless lives she touched through her encouragement, love, and friendship. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on through her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her love, laughter, and beautiful smile will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
