Donald Salyers

DONALD RAY SALYERS, 63, died at 3:17 p.m., May 3, 2004 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1940, in Insko, Ky., to Kash and Millie Linden Salyers. His mother survives. On November 16, 1962, he married Dorothy Faye Edens, who survives in Lima. Mr. Salyers worked for Tilton. He was a member of Cridersville Independent Baptist Church. He was a member of Local 329. He enjoyed gardening and fishing. Survivors also include two daughters, Donna Phipps of Ada and Debra (Ronald) Armentrout of Lima; two sons, Donald R. Salyers II of Beaverdam and Daniel Kash Salyers; eight siblings, Leo Salyers of Lima, Lula Gibson, Margie Elam and P.J. Salyers, all of Kentucky, Bill Salyers of Lima and Drexel Salyers, Earl Salyers and John Salyers, all of Kentucky; his dog, Jack; and 15 grandchildren, Dustin, Amanda, Erin, Mackenzie, Jadin, Ashton, Danae, Allison, D.J., Aleesa, Jacob, Heidi, Krista, R.J. and Ryan. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, George and Jim Salyers. Services will begin at noon Friday at Cridersville Independent Baptist Church. Pastor Ed Wireman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
