DOROTHY A. KOCH, 91, died at 10:10 a.m. September 18, 2004, in Hopland, California. She was born September 8, 1913, in Gomer, Ohio to Silas Guy and Carrie E. Struble Hasson, who preceded her in death. On August 16, 1948, in Ohio, she married Donald A. Koch, who died January 28, 1987. Mrs. Koch had been head cook at Elida High School and St. Charles Catholic School. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at St. Rita's Medical Center. She loved reading and knitting. Survivors include a daughter, Denise (Daniel) Cook of Gomer, Ohio; a son, Norman (Raleigh) Vroman of Hopland, California; two sisters, Nina Barnes of Lima, Ohio and Gertrude Gilden of Delphos, Ohio; six grandchildren, Peter Thomas, Evan Thomas, Mark Thomas, Kathryn Vroman, Brandt Vroman and Melissa Vroman; Step Grandson, Dustin & April Cook: Six Great Grandchildren; and Two Step Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Leis; and six brothers, Ruben F. Hasson, Victor Hasson, Cloyd E. Hasson, Paul R. Hasson, Donald A. Hasson and Guy Hasson. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Father Dave Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to LCCN/Royal Family Kids Camp/Allen County, 2945 N.
