Ethel Davis, 94, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at The Springs of Lima.
Ethel was born on June 21, 1932, in Marion, Indiana, to Charles Glenn and Olive Elizabeth (Stephenson) Amspaugh. On June 25, 1950, she married Robert E. Davis, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2012.
Ethel was a graduate of Payne High School in Paulding County. She was a homemaker and was retired from K-Mart. Ethel loved the Lord and her family dearly. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, crafts, and puzzles. She loved to go thrift store shopping and was a great shopping buddy, having so much fun with her companions. She enjoyed listening to music, with Johnny Cash as her favorite. Ethel liked her coffee and could be counted on to tell the best family stories. She traveled with her husband, Robert to Germany twice, and they also visited Holland and France.
Ethel was a tough, strong-willed lady who battled Cancer for 27 years. Through her health struggles, she was always a very loving, funny, and tenderhearted person. She was a good friend to have and always made friends easily. She will be so very missed.
She is survived by her son, Steve Davis; daughters, Ellen Johnson, and Lisa Davis; fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephew: Teresa Amspaugh, Paul Amspaugh, and Deb (Mike) High; and many grand dogs.
In addition to her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Paul Davis and David (Elaine) Davis; daughter-in-law Pat Davis; son-in-law, Bill Johnson; granddaughter, Noel Lynette Davis; and siblings: Paul Amspaugh, Phyllis Amspaugh, and Bobby Amspaugh.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
