Frances Sally Luchini, 89, passed away at 12:53 a.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2023, at Lost Creek Care Center.
Frances was born on August 1, 1934, in Brunswick, Georgia, to Clarence and Toye (Rentz) Moats. On February 6, 1953, she married John A. Luchini, who preceded her in death.
Frances was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and Alter Rosary Society. She worked and enjoyed St. Gerard’s BINGO for many years. Frances volunteered and was on the board at the Lima YWCA, she also volunteered at United Way of Greater Lima, and St. Ritas Medical Center. Frances retired from WT Grants. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and gardening around the house.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Barbara) Luchini; grandchildren, Brian (Courtney) Luchini, Anthony (Deb) Luchini, Tabatha Luchini, Nicholas (Amanda) Luchini, and Michelle (Jordan) Hare; 11 greatgrandchildren; and sisters, Janice Miley, Vivian (Malcolm) Stone, and Betty Majors.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda M. Stumbaugh; and brothers, Lawrence Moats, Cecil Moats, Rodney Moats and Herman Moats.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio, with a rosary service at 8 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father Mike Sergi will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gerards Church.
