Gary N. Adams

Gary N. Adams, 90, of Elida, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born on June 4, 1933 in Lima to the late Robert and Mary {Seitz} Adams.

On October 10, 1952, he married Shirley Aldrich, who survives him in Elida. Together they shared 71 years of marriage. He graduated from South High School in 1951 and then entered the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Following his time in the Army, he worked for Standard Oil, which later became Terra International. He was a member of the American Legion 96, Eagles 370, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elida. He enjoyed golfing; accomplishing a hole in one at Springbrook Golf Course, dancing, taking his 1929 Model A Ford pickup truck to car shows, and taking golf cart rides around Elida. He was a boy scout and cub scout leader and was an avid Ohio State and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He went on the Honor Flight in 2019 and loved spending time with his family. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: Doug (Candy) Adams, daughters: Tracy (Steve) Sdao and Leslie (Jerry) Kunz, grandchildren: Gary (Trista) Adams, Aubrie Breedlove, Jenny (Brian) Loose, Mara (Greg) Beougher, Lindsey Moeller, Alison Moeller, Brooke (Dan) Binkley, Tahler Sdao, Abby Kunz, and Tanner (Krista) Kunz, 12 great-grandchildren, brother: David (Betty) Adams, son-in-law: Broderick “Rick” Moeller, and very close cousin: Mike (DeAnna) McMillin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Cheryl “Sue” Moeller, and sister: Janice (Willard “Bill”) Zickafoose.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Pastor Paul Scanell will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida.
