Gary Goedde

Gary P. Goedde, 65, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Gary was born on February 26, 1961, in Lima, Ohio, to James C. and Marilyn (Stauffer) Goedde.

On February 26, 1989, he married Trenna Kay (Rose) Goedde

Gary was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran with a deep passion for aviation. He was a devoted Ohio State Buckeye fan. Gary enjoyed following NASCAR and Indy-Car racing. In his spare time, he found joy in collecting and building detailed model airplanes and cars; combining his love of mechanics, craftsmanship and speed. He was a devoted grandpa that spent any time he could with his grandchildren, laughing and making long lasting memories.

He is survived by his sons: Dominic (Sam Gehm) Goedde, Gary P. Goedde II, and Jason Goedde; grandson, Hayden Goedde; granddaughter, Paige Gehm; brother, Chet Goedde; sisters: Cathy Jenner, Karen (Sam) Gerdeman, Diane McConnell, and Mary (Andrew) Hittle. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Please wear your Ohio State gear! There will be no public service.
