78, died at 9:08 AM on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Lima Manor Care Center in Lima, Ohio.

Gary was born on August 19, 1942, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William B. McKinley and Helen (Gilmore) McKinley.  On October 24,1970 he married Rita (Treadway) McKinley.

He retired from being a self-employed painter, previously he had worked in factories as a machinist. He enjoyed golfing, metal detecting and playing cards with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching Ohio State & Bengals football games.

He is survived by his wife, Rita McKinley, of Lima, OH, daughter, Molly (JaMar) Nimmons, son, Andrew (Stephanie McGuire) McKinley; grandchildren, Kayla, Karlie, DeAndre, Mickayla, Baleigh, Brooklyn, Nishay and Jaxon; great-grandchildren, Kaidan, Ka’Liyah, Ka'Miyah, Jiream, Callie, Jazlynn, and Novaleigh; step-grandchildren, Natalie and Jeremiah; three brothers, Bill (Peggy) McKinley, Tom (Vicki) McKinley, and Mike McKinley; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Houle and Cristina Treadway, and many cousins, nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by sister, Ann McKinley Sauer, sister-in-law, Sue McKinley and brother-in-law, Ronald Treadway.

Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with a private graveside service at a later date.
