Geneva Shellabarger

Geneva Shellabarger, 98, of Lima, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William and Ruth {Orndorf} Grant.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, and music. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She attended St. Charles Catholic Church. She is survived by her son: Dan (Lise Anne) Oakes, step-daughter: Karen Owens, grandchildren: Lesley Oakes, Stacy Oakes, Tiffiney Elguera, Jen (Ivan) Mendoza, Mindy (Tom) Rew, Holly (Darren Siler) Rogus, and Jennifer Morris, and multiple step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband: Don Oakes, second husband: Walter Shellabarger, son: David Oakes, daughter: Debi Morris, siblings: Albert Grant, William Grant Jr., and Betty McGuire, and stepchildren: Paul Shellabarger, Kay Shellabarger, and Carla Smith.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 1-3 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A small service will follow at 3 P.M.
