Mr. George Mitchell Bryant, age 62, passed from the life on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at 2:40 a.m. at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. George was born on May 1, 1961 in Lagrange, Georgia to Jessie Bryant and Ella Mae {Culberson} Cook, both parents are deceased.
On April 29, 2011 he married Malaya L. Young. George attended Lima Senior High School and later graduated from South Western College with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. George was employed at Eminent Care Options Home Health Care, with health issues preventing him from working. George was a member of Philippian Missionary Baptist Church in Lima, Ohio and later joined Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
George was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a great friend to many. George had an infectious smile that was very welcoming (always smiling). He loved playing dominos, working in his yard, cooking, and especially attending family gatherings. Working on and driving his classic cars was a highlight for George.

Young of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ashley Phelps of Virginia Beach, 2 brothers, Lawrence E. (Carla) Bryant of Lima, Ohio and Timothy A. (Lorrie) Bryant of Lima, Ohio, 4 sisters, Cora Brown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jacqueline P. Bryant of Lima, Ohio, Jessie D. Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina, and Ida T. Shabazz of Columbus, Ohio, 2 stepsisters: Sylvia Walker of Lima, Ohio and Joyce Toney of Saginaw, Michigan, special sons, Donelle Brown and Andre’ White, mother-in-law, Yvonne M. Jackson of Lima, Ohio, and a host of favorite nieces, nephews, and other relatives and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by a son, George M. Bryant Jr., brother, Jon B. Bryant, sisters, Ophelia A. Brown and Daphonie J. Duncan, and stepsister, Betty Adams.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Lima, Ohio, with a funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Arnold Manley will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
