Harold Ridenour

March 2, 1925 — January 24, 2005

HAROLD BYRON RIDENOUR, 79, died at 8:15 p.m. January 24, 2005, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Dade City, Florida. He was born March 2, 1925, in Lima, Ohio to Doyle Elwood and Cleta Pearl Cary Ridenour, who preceded him in death. On March 23, 1948, he married Clara May Roll, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Ridenour retired from Scott Ladd Foods. His church home was Lima Community Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was a member of Tamarac Golf Club and its Tuesday Seniors Golf League. He was a volunteer at Lima Memorial Health System. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II, from November 6, 1944, to November 30, 1946. He was the best dad and grandpa ever. Survivors also include two daughters, Barbara (David) West of Lima, Ohio and Linda (Tom) Vermillion of Kissimmee, Florida; five grandchildren, Kim West, Lance West, Aaron (Angie) Vermillion, Lesley (Dale) Vermillion and Dr. Eric (Dawn) West; and nine great-grandchildren, Marissa Beer, Chelsey Beer, Dylan Beer, Allie Vermillion, Pierce Vermillion, Taylor West, Austin West, Chandler Vermillion and Caitlin Beckingham. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. David West will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a VFW service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday.
