Helen Adams

HELEN DOROTHY ADAMS, 88, died at 1:30 a.m. September 26, 2004, at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 23, 1916, in Bucyrus, Ohio to Albert and Gladys Beemer Steiger, who preceded her in death. She married Raymond E. "Todd" Adams, who died in 1982. Mrs. Adams had played piano at Full Gospel Tabernacle during her youth then worked at Lima Woolen Mills and Lennox Tool and Die during World War II. In the early 1950s she and her husband owned and operated the Majestic Theater, at Kibby and Main streets, and in the late 1950s and 1960s, they owned and operated the Dixie Roller Rink, where she was the organist. She retired from Musicians Local 32. She later worked as a nurse for Dr. Ludwig. Survivors include a son, Ronald R. (Susan) Adams of Lima. Ohio; a brother, Carl Steiger of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Evelyn Jester of Columbus, Ohio, Ruth Rhinock of Lima, Ohio and Mary Weaver of Elida, Ohio; a grandson, Michael (Deb) Adams of Elida, Ohio; a granddaughter, Melinda (Mike) Sebenoler of Elida, Ohio; and 10 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mike, Kaleb, Jacob, Jordan and Hannah Adams and Kory, Michelle, Tyler and Zach Sebenoler. Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. David Weaver will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
