HELEN V. FRAUNFELTER, 80, died at 10:02 p.m. January 22, 2005, at her residence. She was born September 25, 1924, in Lima, Ohio to Albert C. and Irene Bright Miorin, who preceded her in death. On July 24, 1948, she married James Miley Fraunfelter, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Fraunfelter was a homemaker and had been a secretary at Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a charter member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where she served as secretary from 1960 to 1973. She was a member of American Legion Post 96 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary. She was on the original committee in forming the Catholic Youth Organization in Lima. She was a 1942 graduate of St. Rose High School. She was a Navy veteran serving during World War II, from Nov. 20, 1944, to May 10, 1946, as a telegrapher 3rd class. She was a great animal lover and had a bichon fris? named Bingo. Survivors include a brother, the Rev. Albert Miorin of Colon, Michigan; a sister, Betty (William) Overholtz of Lima, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Lautzenheiser. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. Albert C. Miorin and Father William Rose will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church, the Elida Emergency Squad or Lima Central Catholic High School Scholarship Fund.
