James Hamilton

James Hamilton, 84, passed away at 3:34 p.m. on June 8, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

James was born on February 5, 1942, in McGuffey, Ohio, to the late Miles and Sola (Wireman) Hamilton. On Sunday, December 8, 1963, he married Linda Kaufman, who preceded him in death.

James retired from Ford Motor Company after 37 years. He was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and liked to watch football and tennis. Through the years he enjoyed being a “gearhead” and working on cars. Boating at Indian Lake and teaching the kids how to water ski. Later in life he enjoyed wintering in Palm Harbor, Florida.

He is survived by his children, Scott (Elizabeth) Hamilton, Steven A. “Tony” (Christine) Hamilton, and Michael (Lisa) Hamilton; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Marilyn) Hamilton.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Followed by a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery at 2 p.m.. Chaplain Glory Geib will officiate.
