James Johnson

James A. Johnson, 76, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at his residence.

James was born on November 13, 1949 in Lima, Ohio, to Dewey D. and Barbara (Painter) Johnson. On December 14, 1984, he married Linda (Crowe) Johnson who survives in Lima.

James was a Lima Senior High School graduate. He then served in the Navy from 1968 to 1974 aboard USS Intrepid as a flight catapult hook-up on flight deck. He later retired from Trisco Systems.

He is survived by his children, William A. (Stacee) Johnson, Peter (Brenda) Heuerman and Steve (Emily) Heuerman; grandchildren, Morgan (Steve) Sharp, Garrett (Alyssa) Heuerman, Mychaela (Spenser) Lake, Makenna Johnson, Logan Johnson, Katie (Carlos) Cruz, Heather (Gage) Carles, Michael Heuerman, Nicholas Heuerman, Kyra (Jake) Chambers, Mady Chambers, Julie Chambers and Jon Chambers; great-grandchildren, Noah Chambers, Lakelyn Heuerman, Tucker Lake, Jacob A Juckett, Brinlee Heuerman, Briggs Heuerman, Blakely Heuerman, Hadley Sharp and Holden Sharp; sister, Vicky (Paul) Christman; and sister-in-law, Suzie Johnson.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna (John) Chambers; siblings, William Johnson, Rick Johnson, and Jack Johnson; and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 16, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as St. Rose Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donor’s Choice.
