James Chadwick Martin

James Chadwick Martin , 77, passed away at 6:44 am on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.

James was born on November 10, 1944 in Lima, Ohio, to Chadwick “Pat” and Purnia (Sexton) Martin. On September 28, 1968  he married Sharon (Wolf) Martin who survives in Lima.

James was a graduate of Shawnee High School and joined the Navy upon graduation. His tour of duty on the USS Glacier included trips to Antarctica and New Zealand. He was an avid reader; his favorite authors were Clive Clussler and Louis L’amour. According to Jim, the only team in the NFL is the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife Sharon; his sons Eric (Karen) Martin, and Dennis (Sondra) Martin; grandchildren, Nicole Martin and (Fiancé Joshua Brown), Grace (Zackery) Gay, Claire Martin, Dane Martin, and a sister Nora (David) Barry.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Jacob James Martin.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes there will be no funeral services. His family will be honoring his life in private at a later date. Anyone wishing to pay their respects may contact any family member directly.
